"Very little is needed to make a happy life; it's all within yourself, in your way of thinking." ~Marcus Aurelius
What do you do? I partner with you to drive clutter and disorganization from your life, reducing your stress and increasing your productivity. Some of the key services include:
Decluttering one room or the entire house
Organizing anything or any space in your home
Pre-packing and sorting before a move
Scheduling and coordinating movers
Unpacking and setting up your new home
When do people usually request your help? Sometimes a life event motivates the search for help -
Moving for any reason
Weddings and other changes which create blended households
Downsizing due to divorce or a transition to assisted living
Creating new spaces because of a new addition or children departing
Loss of a Loved One
Sometimes clients are just not happy with the state of their home -
The kitchen is not functioning well
There is no place to store the linens/toys/books/etc.
Drawers, closets, or entire rooms need to be converted or repurposed
The garage is busting at the seams
They have lost track of what is in storage
Why do people hire you? They hire me because there is a project that needs to be accomplished and it's just not getting done. Maybe they:
feel overwhelmed by the scale of the project and are unsure about where to start.
are dealing with a divorce or a death and the emotional attachments make it difficult to face.
have too many decisions to address with which they would feel more comfortable having a partner.
just need a little extra help and motivation.
In short I reduce the anxiety and stress that comes when our stuff is not in order.
What are the benefits of decluttering and getting organized? More than we realize, our environment plays a huge part on our attitude, outlook, and overall health. When our home is in disarray we are not our best selves. A clean, organized space is one in which we want to spend time and one which inspires dignity.
How do I get started? Simply contact meby phone or email and let me know what you would like to address and any details you'd like to include. We will quickly set a time for our consultation.
What can I expect during our consultation? We will dive deeper to:
review your needs and goals.
discuss the challenges currently in your way.
survey the target areas as well as those which are high functioning.
determine what’s working well and what isn't.
With that information I will evaluate the space, provide you a time estimate, and then we will develop a schedule to create the results.
Will you work with me or just coach me? Do I need to be present during our session? It's entirely up to you. Typically you would be more involved in the decluttering process as decisions need to be made about your belongings that only you can make. I will be a sounding board and help guide those decisions but also keep the process moving forward. If you’d like to have less involvement I can go through your belongings on my own and leave you "homework" to go through in between sessions.
Are you going to make me get rid of things? I will not make you do anything! I do know that when we get rid of clutter our lives improve. That is what I want for you so I will encourage you to remove any excess I perceive and make suggestions for solutions and improvements based on your goals and my experience. Ultimately, though, the decisions are yours. Sometimes decluttering can be done all at once, but we can also do it in phases which is often helpful when there is a strong emotional connection to the belongings.
How long will it take? Each project is different, but my goal is to get your space where you want it as quickly as possible. Here are some factors that drive the scale of the project:
The nature of the project - declutter or just organize, pre-sort or just pack, put in an organizational system or just declutter and organize what's left with what is available
The size of the space and the number of belongings to sort
Your desired level of involvement
The complexity of the decisions to be made
At the time of the consult I will make a best efforts estimate. As we move along in the process I will continue to touch base with you on progress to ensure we are on track. You will only pay for the actual hours it takes to complete the project.
What if I only need you for a few hours? That's absolutely fine! My minimum is only 4 hours per session.
Why don’t you offer packages? There are so many factors that go into determining how much time a project will take it’s almost impossible to account for everything. I don’t want you to have to pay ahead and be locked into a certain number of hours that you may not need and will expire. I have found that a pay-as-you-go system allows for the flexibility and adaptability my clients need.
What payments are accepted? I accept cash or check. Payment is due at the end of each work session (each day).
